Far too late for housecleaning

A couple of things while I should be sleeping.

First of all, Movable Type 4 has one of the most awesomely flexible authentication systems ever seen in the free world. You can pretty much sign into this site from any of thousands of sites thanks to the reach of OpenID. There’s even a way to log in using your Yahoo! account! How awesome is that?

Awesome?

Huh?

Anybody?

But while I thought I could just let anybody in through the magic of trusting, that just ain’t the way it works. Unless you log in using TypeKey or some other authenticating service, you can’t be trusted. Movable Type is just a xenophobe, I guess.

Other than watching the admin interface like a hawk, I can’t suggest anything to get your life–afirming comments posted any faster when you aren’t logged in. TypeKey is your friend — remember that.

Secondly, since I know you all love comment RSS feeds as much as I, they got the love they so richly deserve here on the site. If you squint your eyes, you’ll see this thing down in the comment form: . That’s the link to the comments RSS feed.

I purposely put it there because not everybody cares about that sort of thing, and the people who would care would already know to look. The folks that don’t know and/or care don’t have to bother with looking.

So why ℜ? It looks nifty. That’s about it. Plus, there isn’t yet another RSS image thingee that I will continue to get harassed about.

He said something about making the comment thing gooder.

No, wait, that was me.

Just get the thing working, sock puppet

I never thought I would say this, but getting TypeKey is easier than using this. There, I said it.

It’s okay. Let it all out. Breathe.

Did I hear something about comments?

MUHWAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!

You knew this was going to happen.

Sorry.
