Update Your Plugins Day

Update Your Plugin Day

My advice: update your plugins.

Okay, I wouldn’t have a fancy graphic up if I didn’t think it was important. What I’ve seen, on a lot of WordPress blogs especially, is graphics from old plugins. Many plugins have been updated to fix security holes, add new features, or completely fix bugs with older versions.

I have decided, in my infinite wisdom, to declare the 25th of this - and every - month, as Update Your Plugins Day! A day so important, it needed to be both bolded and italicized. That’s just how important this day is!

What you do on Update Your Plugins Day is simple: you go through your plugin page, and check the version number of the plugin you have, and compare it to the one from the plugin provider. If there’s a new version, you update it. Then you’ve got fresh blogging material, as now the added functionality or security makes your blog all that much better, and your reader’s experience is so much better.

Unless the new plugin breaks your whole site, then you’ll just be really mad at me. Like I care, I dish out the advice, I don’t take it. One-Way Street MacStansbury they calls me.

But seriously, you’ll more likely than not be pleased with the updates.

ALSO…

Feel free to rip off my logo and use it on your own site. You can’t hotlink it, but you can take it and resize it, and claim it as your own. Heck, some A-lister’ll get their hands on it, and everybody’ll think they came up with the idea, anyways. Not like I could do anything to stop that regardless, but it’ll be good for everybody that the updates get made.
